Hundreds of thousands of brave men and women have died to protect the values, and freedoms that the Unites States were founded on. Sadly, it has become fair game to stomp on America’s traditions and symbols of liberty. The whole reason the US has survived and been a prosperous nation is because of the values and principles; the freedoms it was founded on. That’s the crux of the issue Disrespecting the United States Flag. The red, white, and blue may be nothing but a flag; but it is the flag that shines as a beacon of truth and justice, and that is the reason miscreants are seeking to humiliate the flag because it is a symbol of defense upholding the fight of good vs evil, a fight we should be proud to serve in. It’s time to stand for truth, justice, and the American way, let’s prove ‘We the People’ love Old Glory and our country by supporting the return to our original values, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. No more should our leaders allow the destruction of the God given freedoms we as American’s enjoy.
The Facts:
The Flag Desecration Amendment (often referred to as the Flag-Burning Amendment) is a proposed addition to the Constitution of the United States that would allow the U.S. Congress to prohibit by statute and provide punishment for the physical "desecration" of the flag of the United States. The concept of flag desecration continues to provoke a heated debate over protecting a national symbol, preserving free speech, and upholding the liberty said to be represented by that national symbol. While the proposal passed by the two-thirds majority required in the House of Representatives several times, in each instance it failed to attain the same required super-majority in the Senate or was never voted upon in the Senate at all. - Wikipedia
Reacting to protests during the Vietnam War era, the United States 90th Congress enacted Public Law 90-381 (82 Stat. 291), later codified as 18 U.S.C. 7001, et. seq., and better known as the Flag Protection Act of 1968. It was an expansion to nationwide applicability of a 1947 law previously restricted only to the District of Columbia (See 61 Stat. 642).
In 1989, the 101st Congress amended that statute with Public Law 101-131 (103 Stat. 777). These amendments to the statute were in response to the United States Supreme Court's ruling that year in the case of Texas v. Johnson (491 U.S. 397). On June 11, 1990, the Supreme Court in the case of United States v. Eichman struck down the Flag Protection Act, ruling again that the government's interest in preserving the flag as a symbol does not outweigh the individual's First Amendment right to disparage that symbol through expressive conduct. - Wikipedia
118 U.S. Code 700 say’s (Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.)
Due to the supreme courts ruling against such laws, the flag continues to be desecrated. These rulings have set precedence that the US is open to destruction of its national symbols. Our leaders and judges need the input of “We the People.” Let’s make a stand to preserve our nation’s flag, which has been a symbol of our American Liberty through thick and thin.
What You’re Not Told:
(Ben Franklin was the First US Diplomat, whose help secured the French assistance in the American Revolutionary War for our nation’s independence. He was also a strong believer in the freedoms of the constitution, and he wrote, Poor Richards Almanac, which was second only in popularity to the Bible at the time of its writing.)
“A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.” -Attributed To Benjamin Franklin
The people’s voice is their strongest weapon, it’s time to use our weapon to preserve our God given rights.
(Franklin also said when signing the Declaration of Independence) “We must all hang together, gentlemen, or else we shall most assuredly hang separately.” - Benjamin Franklin
Meaning to us today, ‘If we don’t sacrifice now, and do it together, given a few years there will be nothing to sacrifice for.’
(Karl Marx was given the title The Father of Communism. Communism is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as ‘a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state owned means of production.’ And as, ‘advocating of class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned…’ by Oxford Languages)
“Take away the heritage from a people, and they are easily persuaded.” - Karl Marx
Meaning, ‘If a people are tied to nothing they are easily molded by outside forces.’ Our country is being detached from its heritage right now, and we need to see that and make the move to stop it. That starts with protecting our foundation.
