“We the People” desire to have a transparent and accountable government. The government of the United States should answer directly to its citizens, not a bureaucracy. The tenets that made the United States successful are rooted in a firm commitment to personal freedom and liberty. The United States cannot exist without the resolve to protect the freedom and liberty to believe as you want to, speak as you believe, and pursue your life in accordance with your beliefs. Crime will not be tolerated, but likewise in our country abridging the rights of the American people will not be tolerated. The desecration of the founding principles in our country is appalling. There has been a lack of transparency in the government for years. Elected officials have found ways to elude being accountable to their constituents and circumvent the borders of their respective positions. While hard working Americans are figuring out how to pay their next bill or afford groceries, officials in D.C. have spent their time figuring out how to take more money from the American people, how to charge Americans for every single item, service, or action. It is high time we the people take a stand to keep the Congress of the United States accountable and transparent. Something that elected officials work hard at behind the scenes is keeping the American people divided. The system that seeks to have control requires that the people it controls are at odds with one another, working against each other. We will never be able to agree with one another on every issue. But can’t we all agree that we need the protection of our freedom so that we can believe the way we want to. That means no one tells us we have to conform to an ideology we fundamentally disagree with. Why is this important? Because we need to use the areas of common interest we have, to protect the freedoms and liberty we enjoy in the United States. Today, that’s keeping the government transparent and accountable. No matter what party line or position you take, keeping the government that serves the people transparent and accountable should be paramount to you, because elected officials answer to the people. However, here is the puzzling part.

Many officials across both parties, but more predominantly the Democratic party, are actively fighting against the accounting of the government’s expenditures. The question is why? Why oppose making sure every taxpayer dollar is accounted for and spent in a responsible manner. Certainly, the American people want to make sure their money is going to be used to keep Americans safe and prosperous. The American people want transparency, that’s why they voted the way they did on November 5th. It is highly disturbing that elected officials are seeking to cover up the waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer money. The lack of transparency from elected officials is certainly concerning, especially at a time when public confidence in congressional elected officials is so low. In an effort to hide the waste of our money, certain politicians are campaigning for the dismantling of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). We the People can only be suspicious of the politicians who are advocating for leaving the bureaucracy to continue wasting American taxpayers’ money. It is necessary for the We the People to unite and call on Congress to ensure our money is never wasted or our contribution to our government abused. The elected officials in Washington, D.C., need to know, We the People will hold them accountable and if officials make poor decisions or lack transparency, they cannot continue to serve the American people.
