“We the People” require more from our congressional officials. We expect the example you set to be polite and mature behavior and the dignity of your office to be displayed by you.
The simplicity of good etiquette somehow eludes politicians in Washington D.C. Spewing nonsense or intentionally using mainstream media to achieve a political agenda is contrary to making progress with realistic propositions. The engagement in congress has gone from the good of Americans to the pockets of politicians. We the People live in a state of concern about whether politicians we elect are going to fulfill their oath of office. When we can’t trust candidates because they will lie or say what it takes to get our vote, our country is in a sad state of affairs. It is time to boost the morale and conscience of citizens and elected officials, by returning to honesty and polite behavior. Let’s take the standards of politics and turn them from shameful to upstanding. The way this is accomplished is by avoiding unnecessary, untrue statements that spark controversy or by protesting lawful proceedings, by singing in front of government buildings. Clearly, the majority of American voters want change and are happy with the efforts to shrink government. It’s not complicated. Be respectful, carry yourself with dignity, treat others with the courtesy you would desire for yourself. Before blurting out a statement consider the truth and effect of that statement. This is true for all people. But politicians especially need to pay close attention!
