“We the People” Demand
Spent Tax Dollars Be Accounted For

Losing 4.7 trillion taxpayer dollars is inexcusable. “We the People” require fiscal accountability, spending audits, and full transparency from our Congress and treasury department. Most importantly, we want $0 to end up spent without knowing where, to whom, and for what purpose it was paid.

The failures that have occurred over the past few decades are wrong. Congress’ inability to account for 4.7 trillion dollars is wrong. The absence of a comprehensive spending review or accounting of government spending is wrong. The inadequate response by Congress to the problems DOGE has discovered is also wrong. Congress has fallen short of their responsibilities to the American people. The response to critical errors and issues is almost always too little, too late. The disgust at knowing tax dollars you have to pay are unaccounted for is overwhelming. The Congress of the United States and every government department owes the American people full transparency and accountability. “We the People” have been blessed to see the new President’s administration make great strides towards restoring the American people’s confidence in their government by increasing transparency, restoring core values, and creating accountability in every level of government. However, the weight of unaccounted for funds and the lack of auditing federal spending is to be placed on Congress. The simple solution to ‘missing’ money is to track it, require a thorough accounting, and audit all spending. Over the years and decades that many members of Congress have been privileged to serve, it seems that the financial welfare and condition of our country has destabilized, not improved. It is time Congress quits talking a big talk and starts walking a better walk. The American people deserve the highest levels of vigilance by our Congress. It is every congressman and women’s responsibility to ensure the utmost accountability and transparency in government.

Department of Government Efficiency on X: "The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process). In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost" / X

In the wake of this disastrous revelation, (Rep) Senator Rick Scott introduced a bill to track all payments. Quote, “The LEDGER Act will fix this alarming lack of transparency on how U.S. taxpayer dollars are being spent by the government with a system to track all outlays and disbursements made by the U.S. Treasury.” Currently, two months have elapsed, and this bill remains introduced, no further action has been taken. This is the speed at which Congress continues to address critical issues.
