Government is supposed to serve at the pleasure of the American people, not those with the money. But, for that to be true “We the People” must stand. Congress, this is “We the People” standing, united. From here forward, we will fight to make elections tied to the voters and not the bankroll. For your integrity and honor, Congress, work for the people and the best interest of America.
When looking at Congress or government as a whole, one has to a evaluate success and failure with a major goal or metric in mind to help establish criteria for said success or failure. A major goal most Americans can get behind is to stabilize the American dollar worldwide and boost American economic dominance. This, if achieved, would bring prices down, increase revenue for Americans, pave the way for a ‘Made in America’ dependence instead of ‘Made in China.’ Putting aside partisanship may be difficult to some, but many Americans interact with each other on a daily basis and care little for the bombastic, deceitful speeches of politicians, but agree rising cost pinch everyone alike. The common, traditional values that have made the United States great for over two centuries are dwindling because of the division created by the lies and misguidance being spread. We have been overtaken by an agenda that has stifled our ingenuity, creativity, and productivity while foreign countries became ruthless and more dedicated to ensuring the United States and we the people are more dependent on our adversaries than ourselves. Why is there a distrust of government? Because government fails to do right by the American people. Alternatively, do people expect too much from the government? Undoubtedly. But are the reasonable achievements met? No! As a government or elected official, trust is gained by keeping your promises, making decisions that repeatedly put Americans first, being as transparent as possible, limiting bureaucracy and government control, and the list goes on… Congress say’s that it cares about the American people, but is it not true that many Congressmen and women from all political parties come out of political service massively ahead financially. Why? The question begs, nay, demands, an answer. The answer is simple. Money rules elections. Candidates who can’t amass large sums of money currently stand little to no chance of being elected. Therefore, people naturally distrust those in government because they need money to be there, and many have been there a long time. What does that tell you? It would be simpler if Patriotic Americans united and spoke on critical issues then went to the polls and support only candidates that support the same goals and values as the people. Then upon serving one term, they can prove their loyalty to the American people or be replaced at the next election! This template eliminates money and implements merit and results as the method to serve the American people in government. What could be better?
