“We the People” Want
Affordability Back

It is insufferable in the United States that politicians continue to sink the country into deeper economic troubles. No matter the grandstanding or accusations from politicians, action must be taken to smooth the economic chaos and bring down the American consumers costs. Congress must limit bureaucratic regulations, work with President Trump’s economic plan, and put aside self-interest for the American people’s best interest.

The American Dream is under attack. The nation’s youth is currently closed out of the market. Almost everything is sold on credit. House mortgages, college payments, and piled up bills are limiting youth’s ability to make forward progress in establishing their lives. Policy decisions and the struggles of the dollar, combined with the national debt, have helped to isolate the next generation from the market. The average first time homebuyer is over 35, having trended upward in the past decade, from 31 in 2015. The American Dream is the ability to have a home, a family, a good job, a comfortable retirement, and more benefits that freedom allows people to experience. This dream has become harder to achieve over the past decades. Inflation and poor Congressional policy decisions have threatened economic stability. Most young people trying to step into the United States housing market will find it extremely difficult if not impossible to acquire land or a house without significant funds or a mortgage. Spending by both parties in Congress has certainly contributed to the inflation numbers that have assisted in driving cost up. The open borders under the Biden administration have also contributed, more recently, to the increase in housing demands and therefore by direct association the rising house prices for an American citizen.

Patriotic Americans love a heroic comeback story and that’s exactly what we want to see here. Congress must increase transparency to the American people, and there must be increased fiscal accountability in Congress. Government spending must be monitored and recorded, and the tax burden lowered to allow Americans to prosper. Illegal aliens must be removed from our country. It’s time to reduce ridiculous climate regulations and open the market. It’s time to inspire entrepreneurship and encourage capitalism in our country, and inflation must be reduced through wise policy decisions. A large part of the solution to the affordability crisis is to limit government interference in the private sector. Allowing market competition is one of the best ways to keep prices affordable, as competitors help to drive the price of goods and services down for the consumer. When government bureaucracy creates a thousand complicated rules that are totally unnecessary it stifles the speed at which products and/or services can be supplied to the American consumer. It is certainly time for the American people to prosper and for Congress to waste less of our taxpayer dollars. By these steps we can hope to see a noticeable improvement in the affordability issue in America and help the next generation find a path through which they can experience the reality of the wonderful American Dream.
