The United States of America can stand taller and grow stronger. Even in the middle of all the problems and chaos, “We the People” can hope for the best. We can apply ourselves to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the midst of the attack on our nation. We are truly blessed to live in a country where freedom and liberty are unalienable rights, and every citizen is given the ability to pursue life and happiness. The amazing system of government our founding fathers gave us has stood as a testament to the world of what freedom can and should look like. But now we face perhaps the greatest challenge of our nation’s history, the not-so-subtle undermining of our core values and the very system put in place to protect those values and rights that the creator of the universe gave us. The cause for freedom is only as good as those that champion it in battle. Right now, the champions we expect to fight for our good and to represent each American citizen are in Congress allowing a government shutdown to continue. From the negative effects on Americans, to the mockery by foreign governments, and the devasting impact not getting paid has on government employees; are these your champions? Are you proud to say you sent your officials to office?

             Do you believe a sitting elected officials’ allegiance should be to the United States or a foreign country? Because whether you are a ‘Democrat’, ‘Republican’, or you don’t care, can we all agree saying "I'm a proud Guatemalan before I'm an American" is wrong of an American official. Guess what, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez said it and not to pick sides, but she is a Democrat. Let that sink in. A sitting US representative claims loyalty to a foreign nation, not just claims it but says this foreign nation comes before the United States.

             Both prominent political parties have had ample opportunities, while the majority in Congress, to change legislation. Ask yourself, “Has our country grown more stable and people more financially sound as a result of Congress’ decisions?” Good things have happened, regardless of who was in power, but overwhelmingly illegal immigration, continuing resolutions (instead of a budget), unlimited spending, political standoffs, and passing ridiculous climate/bureaucratic regulations are all examples of Congressional failures over the last two decades. The solution to this problem isn’t to eliminate our government system or revise it for a “better” one. The answer is for Patriotic Americans to unite, say “We the People” have had enough of the self-dealing politicians, and elect Patriots who, like the founding fathers, serve for love of country and not for personal gain or fame.

             As of October 2025, 56 of the current 100 sitting Senators have served for at least a decade in office. That’s 56% or over half of US Senators that have had 10+ years to implement America first policies. Fourteen of these fifty-six have served two decades, that is a long time to enact agendas and pass legislation. In the House of Representatives 147 out of 435 members have served over 10 years, that’s 1/3 of Representatives. Sadly, rather than progress, we have watched as calamity after calamity occurs, yet every election cycle these politicians promise new results, while the majority of the senate has had ten years to make progress and 33% of the house have been right there with them. The craziest part is that these politicians campaign on fixing problems that they caused during their time in Congress. WOW! It’s time for elected officials to be PATRIOTS, not self-dealing politicians!
