With every Majority Votes Patriot’s vote on this issue, “We the People” stand to tell Congress to stop spending above revenue by cutting wasteful spending, eliminating fraudulent payouts, and creating a budget then adhering to the budget. In doing this Congress can eliminate the national debt and use revenue to truly benefit every American citizen and for the good of the United States!
Congressional spending is out of control. The federal government collected ≈ 5.2 trillion dollars in fiscal year 2025 but spent a whopping 7 trillion dollars. Because of continued uncontrolled and wasteful spending, Congress now has to use 1 trillion dollars of annual revenue to pay debt interest, on 38+ trillion dollars of debt. This is staggering! The logical thing to do would be to quit spending above revenue and make sure all expenditures align with necessary America first goals and that money spent is void of fraud or waste. But what does Congress do? They run up more debt. To the tune of a nearly 1.8 trillion-dollar deficit in fiscal year 2025. Congress spends like they just won the lottery. The bad thing is it’s our money they’re mismanaging and it’s our door the creditors will knock on. Congress just keeps printing money and acting like there won’t be a serious fall for racking up 38 trillion dollars of debt. Do you want to know why grocery costs are high, why healthcare is so expensive, why housing prices are driving people out of the market, why inflation keeps soaring, why utilities are steadily climbing, why transportation costs keep rising, or why the average household is in debt over 100,000 dollars? The answer is simply this, cause and effect. If the federal government prints money like leaves on trees and accumulates 38 trillion dollars of debt then costs will rise, inflation will prosper, and every American citizen will find it more expensive and harder to achieve the American dream. Even in the midst of this concerning crisis there’s something about being an American and knowing if “We the People” stand together we can get Congress’s attention and motivate change. The solution is multi-fold, but attainable. Stop spending above revenue and aim to pay off the debt quickly, that will give 1 trillion dollars of interest payments back to the budget. If Congress wants to spend under revenue they will have to make and stick with a budget. No more continuing resolutions that bloat and sneak in all kinds of spending waste. When Congress eliminates continuing resolutions that will mean that government shutdowns can only be avoided by prior budgeting discussions and final budget decisions before the next fiscal year (October 1st to September 30th). While it is sad and unfortunate, the reality is that upon entering a government shutdown Democrats tend to use the power of the Senate filibuster to bully Republicans into adding wasteful and unnecessary spending into the budget. The Republicans have added plenty of their own wasteful spending, but usually Democrat spending demands fund more extreme causes that Americans dislike immensely. In short, both major political parties fail at curbing expenditures to pay off debt. For decades, Congress has failed to pass budgeting appropriations on time and in a responsible manner. “We the People” have to stand united to influence Congress, in a manner of speaking, we have to take the power of the filibuster and warn every Congressional member that Congress works for “We the People.” Remember, Congress works for you and you vote them into office to ensure the best America for Americans.
