Congress’ failure to pass Homeland Security funding is unacceptable and Americans are extremely displeased with this behavior. Congress, but in this case specifically the Senate, has neglected their duty to the American people and let critical government employees down. The Senate must quit stalling and fulfill American’s agenda, or they’ll soon be out of a job.
The U.S. Senate’s current behavior is shameful. The lack of fiscal responsibility oozes from Congress at beyond tolerable levels. Between October 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, there have been three full or partial government shutdowns. Each of these shutdowns have negatively impacted Americans lives and the economy in the United States. We are currently experiencing a DHS funding lapse due to Senate Democrats unwillingness to fund the Department of Homeland Security over proposed immigration enforcement reforms. Some of the hardest hit individuals include essential government employees, who are required to work without pay, and businesses that derive a great percentage of their income from the spending of government employees. Of course, the whole American economy suffers when the government is essentially shutdown, with a prime example being the Transportation Security Administration. Resignations and shortages have led to fewer flights, longer wait times, and security concerns at airports. Roughly 100,000 Department of Homeland Security employees are reported as going without two of their paychecks. Senate Democrats are currently applying the filibuster to halt the passage of the DHS appropriations bill and are calling for immigration enforcement reforms. Oddly enough, this shutdown does nothing to immigration enforcement efforts or agents because provisions for immigration enforcement operations were included in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Ironically, Senate Democrat holdouts gain nothing but instead hurt government employees who had nothing or little to do with deportation operations. However, the bigger picture reveals a different motive. If Congress, in this case the Senate, aligns with “We the People’s” goals the political establishment machine will lose some of its power. All elected officials MUST understand, Americans overwhelmingly proved in 2024 that “We the People” want illegal aliens deported. It doesn’t matter that it’s a Republican or Democrat holding hard-working people’s paychecks hostage over deporting illegals, either way it is wrong, and it must stop.
It is extremely plausible, in fact true, that the issue is much deeper than politicians lead people to believe. Illegal alien deportations are just a small piece of a large puzzle, but should Congressional Democrats or Republicans continue to hamper the deportation of illegals (criminals who by entering our country illegally broke our law), then American Patriots will be left with no choice but to replace each of these individuals at their next election. This is how our system of government is designed to function and “We the People” have to take back power now. Congress has a duty to pass yearly funding for the government, that is a primary part of their job. Congress lacks trust because they continually fail to do their job. The lack of care for Americans by Congress is appalling. It is a true testament of where Congress allegiance lies, most certainly not with Americans. The fact that our elected officials have come to the point where they deem it okay to withhold the paycheck of hard-working Americans while they bicker among themselves is contemptible. Americans expect Congressional officials work in Congress to align with Americans agenda not to fight, redefine it, or weasel out of completing what Americans elected them to do.
