Congress must stop fueling division. The American people elect our Congressional officials to work in sync on behalf of the people and towards the betterment of the American people lives. It’s time for Congress to quit trying to push a party agenda or cater to large donors and lobbyists and actually work for the people. To Congress: Let your record reflect whether or not you deserve elected office.
Americans aren’t out looking for a fight. In fact, most people just want to live their lives in peace. But the haters of America and the enemies of freedom are hard at work trying to corrupt and subdue the United States, its core traditional values, and the government structure our founding fathers gave us. Those who are seeking to tear down what the United States stands for have sought to divide people. Division is the key to instability and ultimately being overtaken. If people are convinced that their neighbor is their enemy, then the cohesive bond that has united Americans for centuries will fail. Part of the greatness of the United States is that for 2 ½ centuries Americans have stood together through the most trying experiences. Today we are faced with a trial that is not new but applied in a way more sinister than ever before. The internal attempted takeover of our country. Differences in opinion is normal for people, but division is the enemy of working to a common beneficial goal. Congressional officials from both major political parties have fallen into the trap of fighting among themselves and vying for political control rather than pursuing legislation that would benefit Americans. In a conventional setting most people can agree on many issues. But someone is stoking the fire, trying to cause chaos, reign down havoc, and incite division. The divisive language on the mainstream news, the jabs and snarky comments by popular figures, the lies from every angle, and blatant disregard for decency and respect are all contributing to the downfall of our national morale, discipline, and success.
This problem of division isn’t exclusive to Congressional officials by any means. Many individuals in politics, on the news, with celebrity status, and sadly even Americans engage in the attacks on people who they disagree with. Why does our culture believe it is OK to demonize one another? Rational discussion of ideas will lead to discerning the best and brightest thoughts from the foolish and misleading ones. Accusing someone without proof, simply because you disagree with them, is an error that we must not fall into. When people on both sides of political issues call each other names, it does not lend to working towards an America first set of goals but rather tends to cause a deeper divide between people. As American citizens it is our duty and obligation to make wise and responsible decisions every election cycle to ensure those in elected office uphold the highest standards of conduct and work solely for the good and prosperity of the United States and “We the People.” Congressional members have to get their heads on straight, align their priorities, focus on Americans, and shut down their lies of division. “We the People” have to stop buying the lies of division and recognize true change can be inspired and motivated by our united stance on every critical issue. It is not too much to ask of an American, after all our country has been through, that we stand on the issues that plague our country. The heritage our forefathers gave us and the future we want for our children rests in our hands. It is time to hold Congress and all those who would seek to divide us responsible for their actions. Please share this issue with your friends and family, every person that spreads the truth is helping take back our country!
