Congressional members must take action to correct the fiscal management debacle that Congressional budgeting has become. There is something uniquely disturbing about Congress’s lack of care or concern regarding fraud, waste, and improper management of taxpayer dollars. Here at majorityvotes.com, “We the People” are united to ensure Congress manages our nation’s funds wisely.
Americans have a front row seat to the fiscal failure that Congress has indulged in for decades. The lack of structure, precision, and cohesiveness surrounding the Congressional appropriations process has reeked shamefully and Congressional members should, rightfully so, face repercussions for their consistent fiscal failures. The value of proper fiscal management and responsibility cannot be overstated. “We the People” elect individuals to Congress with the understanding that those in office will fulfill their duty to budget wisely and fund certain programs with discretion. Congressional members have fallen into a pattern of overspending and wasteful funding. Americans have called for decreasing the national debt, cutting wasteful spending, reducing federal bureaucracy, and a balanced, America first budget. But Congress has pursued the exact opposite and totally ignored the objectives that Americans want prioritized. With these poor Congressional decisions, the United States economy has suffered extensive inflation and escalating prices. National debt is over thirty trillion dollars and rising with no current Congressional movement to hint at a change in the disastrous sequence of events leading to the large national / government debt that “We the People” are obliged to hold. While Congressional members cycle in and out of office, the burden of debt is left on every American and the future generations of Americans. Every fiscal cycle Congress spends trillions of dollars in excess of revenue and in recent years the immense fraud and waste exposed by the Department of Government Efficiency and independent journalists has shown the utter lack of responsible fiscal management by Congressional officials.
The high cost of living, inflation, housing prices, and debt have caused many to doubt the reality of the American Dream, and in all frankness, the American dream has become harder to afford, in part, due to Congress irresponsible fiscal choices. Homeownership, affording a family, and building wealth grow more expensive and increasingly harder to accomplish every day. This is why Americans must hold Congress accountable. No more excuses and lies during election campaigns. Results, results, results… failure is not an option. Contributing to fiscal problems is a movement spreading across our nation to establish people in office who openly espouse and promote socialist ideologies and policies. This push is promising false results and spreading lies concerning welfare and affordability. One major policy being impelled in this movement is raising taxes on “ultra-wealthy individuals and large corporations.” Raising taxes on successful individuals and businesses is not a realistic or wise move, but instead policies like this disincentivize hard-work and success and drive large job creating companies out of state or worse offshore to, for instance, China. Budgeting and cutting spending, waste, fraud, and debt are the real solutions to government fiscal issues, not raising taxes! These progressive values are bringing about disastrous, negative effects where implemented, and it is imperative that Americans prevent those seeking to propagate these progressive socialist ideologies from succeeding at the ballot box.
The fiscal management expectations the American people have of Congress are not complicated or far-fetched but are the duties that Congressional officials are employed to accomplish. From a fiscal perspective these obligations include a balanced, timely, and complete budget, controlled expenditures, responsible management of government programs, limited federal bureaucracy, the elimination of waste, fraud and debt, and cutting excessive spending and programs. Congress has a duty to ensure their fiscal decisions will not harm or impose injury upon the people of the United States. It is entirely possible for Congress to cut costs and expenditures with responsible and objective fiscal management. A major factor contributing to Congressional failure in each of the above-mentioned categories stems from the lack of accountability by “We the People.” “We the People” have a moral and patriotic duty to safeguard every elected office we are eligible to vote for. Fiscal sustainability is teetering on the precipice of severe catastrophic economic failure. The road back to stable reliable economics is highly affected by Congressional spending, regulations, and bureaucratic inefficiency. Each of these core fiscal pillars must be prioritized by Congress to assist the United States economic growth and security.
