The spending which Congress indulges in has put the United States in a bad financial situation. The American people deserve better from Congress. Wasteful spending and climbing national debt have severely injured the United States economy. The lack of responsible fiscal management from Congressional officials promises to leave lasting negative effects on future generations unless action is taken speedily and efficiently. Getting into debt is easy, a few billion here, a couple million here, and before you know it 39 trillion dollars of debt. But the debt doesn't deter Congress, no sir, Congress takes our warning as an invitation to spend more. Does Congress not see and realize the debt and wasteful spending is hampering economic growth and burdening the government’s ability to function as intended. Congress knows yet refuses to act responsibly or admit their failure as it relates to fiscal accountability and management. For decades, Congress has been on a downhill slope and "We the People" have watched with a profession of concern, but a lack of united deterrence or the necessary accountability. Too many federal elected officials’ actions have gone unaddressed for years while they committed egregious financial errors, including getting rich through questionable means related to exclusive Congressional knowledge.

             Debt has skyrocketed. The math (2015 – 2025) shows a 61% increase in revenue and a 90% increase in spending. Since spending outpaced revenue by nearly 30%, debt has risen to record numbers. In fact, debt has more than doubled to 39 trillion dollars, a roughly 112% increase from the $18.5 trillion owed in 2015. But while 112% sounds bad, and it is, the net debt interest payments have flown past all other numbers as if they were standing still. The net interest payments on US debt have escalated 335%, bringing net interest to ≈ $970 billion dollars, and climbing.  See Chart Below!

             Congressional spending is out of control. Despite the hours a Senator or Congress person spends on television telling the American people their side can fix the problems, both political parties have had the opportunity and have shown they are no more capable of working internally together for the American people’s benefit than telling the truth on the news. The national debt now totals 39 trillion dollars, and all indicators show that Congress has no desire to curb its growth or even remotely begin eliminating it. The Department of Government Efficiency was founded to attack waste, fraud, and abuse, but it has become bogged down by red tape and Congressional hurdles. The national debt is a serious problem that started simple and seemed innocent but continues to manifest itself as the monster that it is. Many reports have the national debt interest doubling by 2036, estimating over 2 trillion dollars of revenue will be committed to interest payments. The debt is unsustainable. The halt of continued national debt accumulation will not occur unless “We the People” bring about Congressional accountability. It’s time to hold Congressional officials responsible!
